Letter to the editor

I received this complaint:
I need to tell you a little about how evenyetanotherblag should just quit whining about everything. And so I shall. One of my objectives is to perform noble deeds. You might not care that evenyetanotherblag's mind is so twisted, it's doubtful whether anyone can straighten it out, but you'd better start caring if you don't want evenyetanotherblag to feed us a diet of robbery, murder, violence, and all other manner of trials and tribulations. I've heard of pea-brained things like antidisestablishmentarianism and McCarthyism. But I've also heard of things like nonviolence, higher moralities, and treating all beings as ends in and of themselves—ideas which evenyetanotherblag's ignorant, unthinking, sleazy brain is too small to understand. One of the enduring effects of evenyetanotherblag's metanarratives is surely the way they will inflict more death and destruction than Genghis Khan's hordes. Don't let yourself be buffaloed by evenyetanotherblag. Don't let yourself be persuaded to believe that at birth every living being is assigned a celestial serial number or frequency power spectrum just because a lot of supercilious, smarmy sods happen to believe that. Analyze the arguments for yourself and see if you agree with my claim that evenyetanotherblag's comrades' thinking is fenced in by many constraints. Their minds are not free because they dare not be.

It may seem difficult at first to reveal the nature and activity of evenyetanotherblag's attendants and expose their inner contexts as well as their ultimate final aims. It is. But evenyetanotherblag seizes every opportunity to pass off all sorts of voluble and obviously meretricious stuff on others as a so-called "inner experience". I cannot believe this colossal clownishness. Any sane person knows that evenyetanotherblag maintains control over its buddies using intense peer pressure, manipulation of their guilt feelings, attacks on their sexuality, and fear. Now that's a rather crude and simplistic statement and, in many cases, it may not even be literally true. But there is a sense in which it is generally true, a sense in which it indeed expresses how when it comes to evenyetanotherblag's hariolations, I think that we have drifted along for too long in a state of blissful denial and outright complacency. It's time to show you, as dispassionately as possible, what kind of manipulative thoughts it is thinking about these days. The sooner we do that the better because evenyetanotherblag's occasional demonstrations of benevolence are not genuine. Nor are its promises. In fact, evenyetanotherblag's plan is to put a clog on all attempts to limit its power. Evenyetanotherblag's functionaries are moving at a frightening pace toward the total implementation of that agenda, which includes challenging all I stand for.

I am convinced that there will be a strong effort on evenyetanotherblag's part to recruit and encourage young people to crush any semblance of opposition to its caustic epigrams, just as older drug dealers use young kids to push drugs, in the near future. This effort will be disguised, of course. It will be cloaked in deceit, as such efforts always are. That's why I'm informing you that I know more about absolutism than most people. You might even say that I'm an expert on the subject. I can therefore state with confidence that I, for one, would be grateful if evenyetanotherblag would take a little time from its rigorous schedule to celebrate knowledge and truth for the sake of knowledge and truth. Of course, pigs will grow wings and fly before that ever happens. Finally, this has been a good deal of reading, and doubtlessly difficult reading at that. Still, I hope you walk away from it with the new knowledge that evenyetanotherblag aims at nothing less than the complete overthrow of capitalism, representational government, and democracy.
Is it giving me too much credit? (ht Nosh)

  1. lol. Not nearly enough credit, if you ask me. It's only a matter of time before you overthrow democracy and moral values.
