  1. My God, it's happening quicker than I would have thought. I hope they give me three squares a day in the reeducation camp. Right, it will be my patriotic duty to go without. I can only hope when they come to take me away it's in a hybrid. That way I can _be_ the change.

  2. Come on ... we need to relax a little bit. Public spiritedness is central to the healthy functioning of any democratic state. Being starry-eyed and incapable of reasoning is one thing. However, to fall immediately to the other extreme of being mistrustful of all authority, all attempts to build consensus, or advocate changes that make rational sense (like, possibly hybrids, yes, though your comment made me chuckle -- it reminds me of a south park episode where a toxic "smug" cloud is covering the nation: the hidden hybrid emissions) is another.

    That said, speaking of energy, I'm skeptical of all the wind, soil, etc rhetoric during the speech--I know we're innovative, but we already invented something that actually works. Nuclear people. Nuclear.
