McCain: waterboarding is torture

It's unacceptable. It's unacceptable. One is too much. Waterboarding is torture, period. I can assure you that once enough physical pain is inflicted on someone, they will tell that interrogator whatever they think they want to hear. And most importantly, it serves as a great propaganda tool for those who recruit people to fight against us.

And I have seen concrete examples of that, talking of former high-ranking Al Qaeda individuals in Iraq.
McCain still doesn't approve of the release of the memos, which makes sense from a partisan standpoint that wishes to avoid accountability, but not any other.

LG has some quotes from the unhinged right still claiming waterboarding is not torture. WSJ, for instance, has an editorial: "The Memos Prove We Didn't Torture. Lately, for much of the Right, every day is opposite day...in more ways than one.
