Size of Alaska

Comparative land areas (excludes water):

Contiguous US: 7,664 thousand km2
Alaska: 1,519 thousand km2 (20% of the contiguous states)
Texas: 679 thousand km2 (9% of contiguous, 45% of Alaska's size)

Of course, Alaska has less than 3% the population of Texas.
