Sen. Mendez (D-N.J.) introduced legislation Thursday that would allow federally-regulated online poker and other games of skill. The bill is designed to raise revenue while protecting families through a crackdown on predatory Internet gaming sites that target minors and fleece their customers. A 2006 law banned most forms of Internet gambling in the United States and some members have been trying to get the statute repealed or significantly modified. In the House, Rep. Frank (D-Mass) has proposed a similar bill.

A Democrat-sponsored bill I can support. That doesn't happen too often. Who knew my senator, the normally worthless and corrupt Menendez, was actually good for something?
